cuddly friend and activity center all-in-one
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This little guy is great. There is so much for my little one to do. Although she mostly likes to make the scrunchy noise and chew on the squeak bubble. It’s ALL GOOD!
Fun toy!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My son and I love this toy! I love the different textures and the little teether. I think this will be an even better toy as my son gets older. I’ve hooked it onto the car seat and he likes having something to bat at. Very much recommended. Great toy.
superb first toy
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This was the first toy to which my son visibly reacted in happy recognition, and a year later it is still a favorite. As a “flying bug” it lends itself to older kids and adults sort of zooming it around Baby’s head and then squeaking it or clacking the rings, to Baby’s delight. I was surprised at how young my little boy was when he started investigating the peek-a-boo mirror and the crinkly wings. The bright colors and happy face on the front, and the black-and-white patterns on the back, really do attract and keep Baby’s attention. We received this second-hand from someone who told me it was very heavily used at their house as well, so it is very sturdy. It also cleans up nicely with a little dish-soap and water on the surface; the fabrics seem to be engineered so stuff doesn’t really stick in the fabric at all.
My baby loves Freddie!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
We got Freddie the Firefly from a friend and my baby cannot get enough of this toy! He’s been using it since he was one month old, now he is five and Freddie is still strong. We attached the firefly to his vibrating chair an he spends a lot of time playing with it. Well worth the price.
Ohh so fun!!!

My little girl of 3 months loves this toy she likes the crinkling sound of the plastic wings. Before she could grasp she liked the colors. This toy is growing with her. I’m so glad I got it.
I agree completely.
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I agree with the other reviews. My son discovered his firefly at around 6 weeks, and at almost 6 months it is still his favorite toy!
Freddie!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I purchased this toy based upon other reviews. My newborn is only a couple of weeks old, but when I place it in front of her during playtime, I can see that she’s interested in this toy and her eyes move from left to right to look at the doll. I can’t wait until she grabs and plays with Freddie.
Great Toy
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is a pretty cool toy…my daughter loves it. In fact she hates traveling in the car but this toy keeps her occupied for sometime. It has many interesting facets.
All 3 of my babies have loved this.
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I don’t know what it is about this thing, but all three of my children have been infatuated with it. I think we were given this toy 6 years ago when my first child was born. My third child is 5 months now, and like her two older siblings, she is nuts about this toy. It’s been the favorite for each of them. It’s easy for them to grip, even at only a couple of months old. She won’t stop manipulating it and crinkling it — if there is any negative at all, it’s that we can’t give it to her at church or anywhere where we need her to be quiet because she’s constantly shaking it and crinkling the wings. Nice teether toys, too.
His favorite toy!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is my son’s favorite toy! He loves all of the different things going on with it, and he loves the crinkling of the wings. I give this 5 stars!
My four-month-old loves this toy!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My daughter has other Lamaze toys but this is by far her favorite. (Maybe she’ll grow into the bulkier ones.) It is lightweight and very easy for her to grasp. She finds the noise she can make with it rewarding. It was one of the first toys she showed interest in playing with at 10 weeks and she doesn’t tire of it. I keep it in the car since she needs her favorite toy to get her through lonely car rides. Highly recommended!
Great Toy for Infant
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is the first toy I got for my 3 year old baby. I’m a first time mom, and I was very overjoyed to see how my baby react to this little butterfly. Everytime I moved it around in front of my baby, I can see his eyes following it. Also, when I make the squeaky sound from one of its wings, my baby just can’t stop laughing, I’m just so glad that there’s something out there that can make my baby laugh so happily.
We love Freddie
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My 5 month old daughter loves this toy. She chews on it, plays with the rings and crinkles the wings. It keeps her busy for a long time, and it is fun to watch her talk to it and throw it around and then reach for it.
Hey, if Emma loves this, you will love it, too!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is a great toy with lots of funny textures to touch (and chew on!)
Lamaze Freddie the Firefly became even more popular when Emma’s manual desterity allowed her to get a better grip on him. That funny “rustling” sound he makes is a hoot!
This toy is very well designed to hold a baby’s attention and stimulate play!
Muy bueno

Lo compre para que mi hija jugara cuando estubiera en el carro pero juga con el todo el tiempo, le encanta, lo recomiendo.
Baby loves her dragonfly
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
There are so many different “hidden” treasures on this toy. I didn’t even notice the embroidered ladybug under one of the wings until a couple months of Sofia using the toy. She loves, loves, loves this one… even though she didn’t get really interested in it until about 3 months of age. She is now 5 1/2 months and still loves to play with this.
Her favorite part about this toy is the crinkle noise it makes, so we have bought many, many other crinkle toys. Still, this is her favorite.
Excellent fun toy
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is a fun excellent toy for little ones. I have 2 girls and he was used with both of them. Both of them loved their bugs! Freddie has so many things to grab their attention. He also makes fun rustling and rattling sounds ~ and has lots of things for baby to eat! The mirror on the wing is a great addition! I’ve bought several Lamaze toys for my girls and this was the most popular by far!
Lamaze Firefly – Cute, Interesting, Durable
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought Freddy the Firefly 3 years ago for my first son, and it’s still in great condition for my second son. Freddy has beautiful bright colors with eye catching, contrasting patterns that babies love. I use the top ring to attach it to the stroller, and my 4 month old loves to grab the wings (hear them crinkle) and put the teether or bottom rings in his mouth. There are so many interesting features to keep baby entertained. It is a little on the big size for a 3-4 month old, but I love that he can grow with it. As they grow they can practice coordination putting the teether in and out of the pocket, squeaking the wing and lifting the panel to see the little mirror. I love this toy, and while we are out people have commented on how adorable it is.
Love this toy!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought this for my 4 month old son. He has loved this toy from the time he got it. He especially likes that he can hold on to the rings on the bottom of the firefly with one hand and the link on the top with the other. He also loves staring at the black and white patterns on the back. I bought another one recently in a local store. I have one hanging from his infant seat and the other hanging from a gym on the floor.
Lamaze character toys are the best show and play toys out there…
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This guy is now on his second kid and they both have loved the bold colors, different textures, and simple sounds and sensations. Once my son got to crawling, he lost interest – but until then he was hooked. My daughter now loves looking and feeling it, and it is easy to grasp either a wing or a ring if you simply set it next to her, although I wish it were just a little bit smaller overall so she could hold it up for herself…
Jordan loves it, MeeMa!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My grandson is 4 months young, he has lots of toys. I had this shipped to him and he has not let go of it! This is great for his gums and color coordination. I am very pleased with it!
Awesome Freddie
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This toy is awesome. My son enjoys staring out all the different surfaces. His tiny hands can easily grab the wings and move the toy. It is entertaining upside right and upside down. We take this toy everywhere.
Perfect portable toy
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My daughter absolutely loves her Freddie. We got this for her when she was about 3 months. She is 7 months now and still plays with it every day. It fits easily into the diaper bag for travel, sits with her in her car seat, and isn’t too heavy for her to lift when she is on her back or sitting up. She loves the crinkly wings. She also now chews on the rings and teether bug. We bought this after many other parents recommended it, and they were right! This toy is a must have for little ones.
What a great toy!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My 4 month old loves this toy! Great colors, textures, and good size. I really like the clip that holds it on – doesn’t slip off easily like many other toys.
A surefire hit gift for newborns and up
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Kids enjoy this toy even in their earliest months, and continue to play with it as they grow older. I’ve given a half-dozen Freddy’s and have had strong positive feedback every time.
Neat toy!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Keeps my baby entertained. Lots to look at. It’s her favorite car toy.
Good toy, but my 4 month old doesn’t like it much
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This toy has crinkle sounds on the wings, a mirror, a squeaky button, a fuzzy ball for baby to touch, a teether, rings at the bottom and lastly the center ‘body’ rattles. Perhaps when my baby is bigger he will appreciate the diversity of features on this toy, but for now he just wants to put it in his mouth and he gets frustrated that it’s too big. The sounds do seems to capture his interest a bit. Like the concept but I think it’s overrated personally. It is a good toy, just maybe better for an older baby.
Great toy
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My daughter got this along with a few other Lamaze toys for Christmas and loves it. She is almost a year now and still enjoys playing with this.
Son loves this!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My 4 month old absolutely adores Freddie! He especially loves the noise from the crinkling wings. The bright color are also very engaging!
Freddie the Firefly
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My son loved this toy especially the crackling noises. He also likes the rings and the bright colors. The black and white on the back of Freddie also gets his attention. I wish I new about the black and white. I would have got it when he was newborn for his mental stimulation.
Colorful!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
The firefly is so colorful and different things on it for a baby. My future grandson will love playing with it.
Little Toy, Big Captivation
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
After spending some time reading reviews on Freddie the Firefly, I saw one in a department store while shopping with my 2-month old. To pacify her, I clipped Freddie onto the handle of her baby carrier and as we strolled around, I knew that I wouldn’t be leaving the store without it! She immediately took to this toy! I keep it attached to her carrier, and after 2 months, she plays with this toy everytime we are in the car. As I’m driving I can hear the crunching of the wings, as she “talks” to him to stay busy. It’s nice to see that there are so many captivating points to this toy…it’s the least expensive item in our toy arsenal, but gets the most amount of attention. There isn’t a day go by without “Bug”. This is a GREAT purchase for an infant coming into the color recognition stages… and beyond (also a great gift-topper for baby shower gifts…new moms will LOVE you for this)!!
Lamaze Freddie the Firefly – great toy!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My granddaughter loves this one too — the bright colors keep her attention and she is quiet for quite a while playing with it. I’m glad I got it for her for Easter rather than a bunny!
My son loves this toy
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
My son is 5 months old and loves this toy. It makes crinkling noises when he grabs it. It also has a teether and a great quality mirror on one of its wings. I hang this toy from his swing and car seat. He enjoys grabbing it and chewing on it. My only concern about this product is that I am not sure if it is BPA free. I emailed the company and haven’t heard back yet. If the Lamaze line of toys is BPA free, I will definitely be buying more.
12/25/09: I heard back from the company. They assured me the product is BPA free.
Freddie is a great toy!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My 15 week old daughter loves Freddie! We currently have him hanging on the headrest of our backseat so she can look at him while she’s in her carseat. We also take him in with us when we go into restaurants. The baby gets very excited — after looking at him she finally gets to grab him and gnaw on him! She really likes the colorful plastic rings and the crinkly noises he makes.
All the Lamaze toys are great and well priced.
Love it So Much We Had to Replace It!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
We LOVE this toy! It has so many great textures, colors, & activities to keep babies interested. We love to keep it on the carseat. Our daughter (5) had one & we kept it & used it again with our new baby, but when we lost it on a trip, we missed it so much we bought another one. Other carseat toys haven’t kept our kids’ interest as much as this one. Definitely one of the best!
LOVE LOVE LOVE Freddie!!!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
We bought this for our son when he was about 2 months old and he instantly fell in love with it!!! He will be 3 months old tomorrow and he still loves it…it’s the only toy that has held his attention for this long and believe me he has MANY. This is the first toy that he ever reached for, smiled at and played with for more than 5 minutes. We have it attached to his gym playmat and he will lay there and play with it for an hour and a 1/2 sometimes…even crys if you take him away from it before he’s ready!!! This is a MUST HAVE for any baby (or mommy lol)
Shame on Lamaze…..

It is disgraceful to find that almost everything is made in China. The Chinese have such a horrible track record in their manufacturing protocol; I would even go as far as to say they have a total disregard for the safety and integrity of their products.
the import to the U.S.
I wasn’t expecting this from the Lamaze company, and am very disappointed to discover that these cute critters like Freddie the Firefly are possibly compromised. Lamaze should know that toys for babies must have impeccable safety safeguards.
love it!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
The toy is actually smaller than I had anticipated, which is great because it makes it easier for my little guy to hold onto. My five month old loves this toy and it actually keeps him occupied enough that he falls asleep playing with it when we are out! love the “crinkly” wings and bright colours. Definitely recommend this toy to anyone. Only drawback is the plastic hook, not the easiest to hook and off the stroller, etc.
Cute Toy
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought this for my daughter before she was 2 months old. She stared and stared at it the first time I showed it to her. She loves to look at the colors on his wings and the back of his wings are black and white patterns, also very eye catching. Can’t wait until she starts reaching out for him! One thing I like is he’s small enough to toss in the diaper bag, too, but big enough to capture her attention. Very cute toy, but I probably would not buy any more of the Lamaze animal toys because of other reviews I have read that say they are all pretty much the same, so if you have one, you have them all.
Fun time with Freddie
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
We bought Freddie when our little guy was two months old. He liked Freddie so much that we had to get Buzz a month later. He loved the black and white pattern on the back at first, and later on he liked to swat the wings to hear the crinkle noises (sometimes it looks as if he’s fighting with him). Now he’s trying his best keep the little teether in his mouth.
Twins love Freddie
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My twins (5 months old) absolutely love Freddie the Firefly. They both coo and giggle with Freddie. It keeps them entertained for quite some time especially when we are out and about. I would recommend this item.

Outstanding Infant Toy

This is the best toy we’ve bought our new grandson. He loves to crinkle the wings. There are many activities to keep him busy and entertained.

My son loves his freddie!! the crinkle sound, different texture feel, a small “mirror”,something he can chew on & it squeaks too…I’m getting the moose next..Great buy!
Finally, a toy she likes!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Our daughter has never really shown much interest in any toys that are “free standing”, meaning not hanging from her play mat or over her bouncy seat. She likes pulling on objects but once they are in her grasp, lets them go and looks for something else to grasp. Same thing with rattles and clutch toys–holds them for a few minutes at most and then is bored. Freddie the firefly is a different story. She loves the crinkly texture and sound of the wings. She pulls on them and rubs them to make sounds. She also clutches the rings, both top and bottom. Don’t know why she likes this particular toy, but it’s a winner. Seems it has more features than the peacock.
Great toy for newborns
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My daughter is 2 months old and loves this toy. (It was a gift picked by her 2 year old cousin, as he really liked it.) We’ve been playing with it for about 2-3 weeks now. At first, it was just the high-contrast patterns on the back of the wings. The next thing to draw her attention was the face of the firefly. Lately, she’s really into the small mirror. I’m sure when she starts grabbing her toys more often, the crinkly wings and various textures will amuse her.
